5 HEALTH HABITS FOR A LONGER AND HEALTHY LIVING THIS YEAR


1 Diet and Nutrition
   
Healthy eating is a key to a better and longer life. As the saying goes " you are what you eat". Eat more of organic food. Eating organic food reduces  food poisoning. Processed food should be cut or eliminated. Veggies and fruit should be your basic meal. Avoid food with unnatural and chemical additives preservation, colouring and flavouring. Try to make your own home made juices, drink some fresh fruit everyday. Freshly squeezed fruit and veggies juices are power-packed nutritional blast. Fresh juices contains vitamins, minerals essential for good health. Eliminate refined sugar, unnecessary drugs, alcohol and cigarettes because these substances weaken you and accumulate in your body, causing long-term harm. Follow the food circle above. 2 Drink Water

Water is essential for good health. Water helps to hydrate the body. Our bodies are over 80% of water, so we need to drink a lot of water at least 8-ounce glasses of water a day
. Stop the bad habit of drinking sodas or alcohol when tasty, drink water first. We need water first to lubricate our joint and maintain our muscles. Dehydration can reduce physical performance and will predispose muscle injury.

3 Exercise

Exercise regularly not occasionally. Exercising at least 4 times in a week goes a long way in maintaining a healthy living. Make exercise part of your daily regime. We need to exercise to keep our heart strong and tone the muscles. Humans were made to move, so keep working out. You should also know that all the healthy habits in the world won't help your overall fitness if you are on the couch or sitting on your office chair all day. 30 minute of regular exercise 3-4 times a week prevent cardiovascular disease and maintain fitness.

4 Relaxation

Get enough quality rest everyday. Have at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night. Research strongly supports the need for good sleep. Go to bed early.

5 Stop Junk Food

Substitute healthy snacks for junk food.
